The Baywood is absolutely wonderful. Sharon and the staff make you feel like royalty with delicious breakfasts, a lovely home, gorgeous Chesapeake bay views, devine sun set hour treats and a comfortable bed. The perfect retreat! Thanks so much for everything.

Sharon:
Thank you for making our anniversary celebration special. You have a beautiful setting and your attention to detail is greatly appreciated. You made us feel special, in a special place. We will see you again!

We had an amazing time at THE BAYWOOD B&B. The area is ideal place for relaxation and inspiration. We enjoyed staying at the beautiful bay view room with the balcony. Every night we able to observe picture perfect sunsets, including long walks on the sandy beach of the bay. But most of all we were touched by generous Sharon’s & Mike’s hospitality who made us feel at home. Sunset hour with vine is the real signature treat!
Many thanks and until next time.

A wonderful place to spend a special occasion. The accomodations are as welcoming as the setting and the view is spectacular. Truly a place where you can commune with God and enjoy his spectacular creation. Walking the beach you are reminded that when there is one set of footprints, it is when God is carrying you. There are many warm and friendly folks to meet in the town of Cape Charles and the local churches. Too know the host family is to love them. They will remain in your memory not just because they make their guest feel special, but because of the genuinly kind and thoughtful people that they are. Thank you, one and all and may God continue to bless your lives and Baywoods, truly the house in the woods by the bay, next to a field, where you can be refreshed by all aspects.

Spectacular location, comfortable accommodations, excellent food, and friendly and attentive staff; what more could you ask for in a B&B.

I can’t wait to come back to the Baywwod this summer. It is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I have ever been. Sharon’s breakfast quiche is delicious, and her hospitality and graciousness make the Baywood like home away from home.

Our stay was everything we expected and more. Quite and peaceful, the sun set was beautiful. Extremly well kept, clean and neat, the bed was like sleeping on a cloud and the towels were thick and soft. Breakfast was awesome, your muffins are good enough for repeat visits. Enjoyed the stories that Melissa told about her camping on the beach in her younger years.

This was our 1st stay at a Bed & Breakfast and it was perfect. The house is brand new, the rooms are large and well furnished, the bathroom is huge and has a whirl pool bath and shower. The bay view rooms overlook the ocean. Sharon is a wonderful host and you feel at home. This place is awesome !
Thanks Sharon and see you in October

What a fantastic, hidden gem. It is tucked away on a wooded lot for the ultimate in privacy. Sharon and her family were extremely courteous and made me feel right at home. The views overlooking the Chesapeake are postcard worthy. It was fun watching the Osprey and Pelicans feeding right off of the beach. I look forward to returning in October.

My boyfriend and I just stayed for a weekend for our anniversary, and it blew our expectations out of the water! Josh welcomed us once we arrived, and it felt more like we had arrived at a friends house to stay for a couple of nights! So comfortable, we didn’t feel like we had to tip-toe around, they were very inviting and welcoming. The beds were very comfy as well! Thank you guys, we will be coming back!

The Baywood Bed and Breakfast is pretty close to perfect. The owners are friendly and very accomodating. The house is nicely appointed and we appreciated the little extras like high thread count sheets and fluffy towels. Josh makes an awesome breakfast and you can enjoy it on the beautiful back deck overlooking the most amazing scenery. We appreciated the opportunity to bring our little dogs with us on vacation. The whole experience was much like visiting relatives who own a beach house. If you are lokking for a peaceful and laid back vacation spot, you can’t do any better than this.

Mid-April 2009 I came to Cape Charles with a photographers group and stayed at The Baywood. I had the Cape Charles room! The room was large, clean, and well-appointed with a sitting area, a very large private bath, and a balcony overlooking the Chesapeake. The family is very warm and welcoming and I felt like I was at home. Need I say more? Yes; The Baywood is a special place owned and managed by a special family. See you in October!

What a delightful location for a bed and breakfast. It had a beautiful view of the sunset over the Chesapeake Bay, a wonderful breakfast and friendly staff who did what they could to make me comfortable (especially since my luggage didn’t get to make the trip with me and was being held the Norfolk airport).
If/when I make it to the Eastern Shore again, this is certainly a place I want to stay again, and will be sure to recommend it to anyone I know in the area!

My stay at Baywood was an enjoyable and relaxing experience. The beach at Baywood is wonderful and I found it better than Virginia Beach. The atmosphere is clean and pleasant at this house and the staff were great as well. We talked and laughed with the staff and guests. I had a great time and did not want to leave. Also, the staff is very flexible with dates when you are planning your stay. I have referred Baywood to my friends, and I have scheduled my next stay before my summer vacation ends. Thanks Again Baywood staff!

When they say Virgina is for Lovers they were thinking of the Baywood Inn. We loved staying at the Baywood and felt very comfortable there. By the time we were done touring Washington D.C. we were ready for the peace that we found at the Inn. Our room was so nice and airy, the balcony looking toward the bay had a wonderful view.
My husband and I were celebrating our first year anniversary and hope that we can make this an annual event for us. Thank you for sharing the comforts of the Inn and the tasty breakfasts you provided for us, it was fabulous. I hope and pray you are around for a very long time. May God bless you and your families for providing such a wonderful place for comfort and peace.

We spent our entire honeymoon here at the Baywood, and it was hands down everything we had hoped for. This website nowhere near gives justice to the phenomenal place this is. Upon leaving, we even booked for our first anniversary! You will not be disappointed in this bed and breakfast and everything it, and its incredible owners, have to offer.

This was truly the most comfortable and friendly B&B we’ve been to. Sharon and Rachel were so kind and accommodating, we will for sure be back. The Baywood’s atmosphere was very zen like with candles burning and the sound of water flowing. Even our dog was happy and relaxed. It made the purchase of our new property even more special than it already was. THANK YOU BAYWOOD.

My girlfriend and I had an amazing time. She loved the bed and how everything was so inviting. Even though it was December, we had a wonderful time. Mike was very nice, he even called us to check on us. The view of the bay is beautiful, even in the winter. My girlfriend even wants to plan our wedding here. God help me! We’ll be back in the summer.

We just spent Valentine’s Day weekend there and were very impressed. The Lighthouse room was great and we felt very much at home. We will be back for sure!

Mike & Sharon,
You have a wonderful home and thanks for your hospitality! I enjoyed sharing a beer with you both. Pam and I plan on coming back when we can just relax and enjoy the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

What a blessed time we had. Your home is so welcoming, breakfast was delicious, views were incredible and the rooms are wonderful too. Thank you so much for everything you did and do – you are a wonderful couple and enjoyed sharing with you – the perfect host and hostess. We hope to return real soon.

Mike and Sharon were wonderful guests at the Baywood. They were very cordial, hospitable, and friendly. We enjoyed talking with them as well.
My husband, Jay, and I had a great time staying there as we were in town for a wedding/vow renewal in Cheriton. The Cape Charles Room offered a gorgeous view of the Chesapeake Bay; I loved waking up to the waves in the morning and relaxing on the grounds overlooking the private beach. Jay and I became acquainted with the Baywood cats, Oscar and Mash. They were so sweet!
Our dog, Journie, loved it too as she enjoyed going outside as well, since there was much for her to see and explore.
And OH MY GOSH, the breakfast was outstanding both mornings we were there. Their service was timely and impeccable. If you are looking for a lovely, relaxing get-away (or if you are pregnant like I am and want to enjoy a ‘babymoon’), this is the place to do it!! We definitely plan to return!

Thank you.

Mike and Sharon,
This is our second year anniversary at the Baywood, and we fell in love with your bed and breakfast even more than last year. I think we even fell deeper in love with each other. Thank you for sharing your incredible place. Every morning before breakfast we went for a walk on the beach to find treasures and we did, the scenery, an Eagle, the shells, the crabs, I finally saw a Blue crab for the first time in my life and the Eagle too, first time in my life. When I saw the Eagle I was breathless and speechless at the same time, I managed to blurt something out to my husband and took the pictures. The Baywood is a photographers dream world, so much beauty to enjoy and to experience. May God bless you and your bed and breakfast for the joyous times you bring to others, thank you.

This is by far one of the most wonderful places to stay in the East. The porch, the rocking chairs and the view are made for relaxation. The beach is so handy for walking and picking up shells. The rooms are large and nicely decorated with large bathrooms and a big closet. And there are some good restaurants in Cape Charles. But by far one of the best things are the conversations with Mike and Sharon, the hosts.

This was my little family’s first visit to a bed and breakfast. My 15 year old son was not pleased that there would not be a TV in the room, but when we arrived Mike made a special effort to welcome him to the Inn. What a wonderful experience and the Baywood muffins are awesome!!

What a fantastic sunset!! We felt like we were at home. We were greeted by Mike and two lovely cats. Watched the Duke basketball game. What a lovely house. The guest rooms were extremely clean with private bath, and what views from the balcony. We woke up to the smell of fresh coffee outside our door. Mike prepared a wonderful breakfast with fresh muffins and fruit. My husband and I played golf and then returned to Baywood to pick up our newly adopted kitten “BB”. Someone had left this beautiful kitten and she came home with us to be a part of our family. Mike we want to thank you for the opportunity to stay in your lovely B&B. We will definitely be back.
