We stayed at the Baywood for the first night in our honeymoon roadtrip. The house is down a long windy dirt driveway. It is a very modern B&B but considering this was our first, that is fine with me. We arrived around 7pm. We settled in with the owner, who was very gracious and offered us some options for dinner back in Cape Charles. The B&B is not in Cape Charles, it is about 10 mins past driving south.
When we returned from dinner around 10pm, the lights were all out (luckily we were given the pass code for the front door. Oddly enough, the owner opened it to tell us the power had gone out. Don’t flush the toilets
We were tired from the long drive and dinner so we were calling it a night anyway.
The bedrooms were spectacularly clean and the bathrooms (each room has an individual bathroom), were clean and well kept.
Free wi-fi which is a great benefit.
We breakfasted with a very nice couple in from England, the fruit salad was great, but the eggs were pretty over cooked. All-in-all, a very nice place to stay.

Highly recommended. A++
What a fantastic, hidden gem. It is tucked away on a wooded lot for the ultimate in privacy. Sharon and her family were extremely courteous and made me feel right at home. The views overlooking the Chesapeake are postcard worthy. It was fun watching the Osprey and Pelicans feeding right off of the beach. I look forward to returning in October.

This place is perfect
This was our 1st stay at a Bed & Breakfast and it was perfect. The house is brand new, the rooms are large and well furnished, the bathroom is huge and has a whirl pool bath and shower. The bay view rooms overlook the ocean. Sharon is a wonderful host and you feel at home. This place is awesome !
Thanks Sharon and see you in October

A Great Place to Escape from the World
We ventured through the short winding trail at the southern end of Latimers Bluff Road, and were richly rewarded for it. The Baywood is located near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, which made it convenient for us to visit friends in Virginia Beach, yet it was secluded enough from Route 13 to make it the perfect place to escape from the world. A short walk down the stairway in the back yard took us to a private beach on the Chesapeake Bay, which we shared with only the crabs (fiddler, horseshoe, and blue). The Lighthouse Room, where we stayed, was spacious and lovely. Best of all was Sharon and her daughter, Rachel, who very quickly after our arrival seemed like old friends. The breakfasts they provided were satisfying without feeling heavy (Alex’s favorite was the Eggs Benedict, but all of the breakfasts were delightful), and Sharon and Rachel went the extra mile to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Our one regret was that we never made it back to the Baywood in time to enjoy what must have been spectacular sunsets on the Bay, but perhaps that will be for our next visit…

Great relaxing stay on the bay.
My wife, our 14 month old daughter, and I stayed at this wonderful B&B for a 3 day weekend getaway in July. The owner, Sharon, was so accommodating to our needs as parents of a young child and of dietary needs (vegetarian). The house is set on the water, and has a semi-private beach, very close to the Chesapeake Bay bridge/tunnel for day trips to VA Beach, and near to a wildlife reserve.
We have stayed at many B&B’s, and would rate this among the best stays. It was a very serene and relaxed environment, clean, and welcoming. The weather was hot during the day, and the home was comfortablly air conditioned. Also, Sharon had some helpful suggestions for things to do, see, and places to eat.
There is an option to rent the whole house, which we did, and we would absolutely return for a future relaxing vacation.
